IP settings on the computer
To see the ip on Linux
Making an IP address can be done such as the following example
# ifconfig eth0 192.168.1.1 up
View information that will form with the following example
# ifconfig eth0
eth0 Link encap: Ethernet HWaddr 00:30:84:9 E: E4: 53
inet addr: 192.168.1.1 Bcast: 192.168.1.255 Mask: 255.255.255.0

It to the IP address in Windows XP do the following:

1. In the Run command (Windows + R), type control panel

3. Right-click on Local Area Network and select Properties

Naming fails if the ping does not show repon as above, one of the examples:

root ~ root # ping 192.168.1.4

You can ping to the IP network your colleagues to see if there is a connection between your PC to your PC network partners.
